Abstract		In the first part the gross anatomy of the connective tissue skeleton is described. The loosely used terms annulus and trigonum are explained and the topography of the fibrous skeleton presented. Inthe second part the microscopical appearance of the connective tissue and its relationship to myocard are stressed.
