Abstract		Advances in radiotherapy have brought about an increasing demand for more accurate determination of curative dose and site in radiotherapy application. In order to achieve this, we had to determine acorresponding unit of irradiation dose, work outstandard measuring devices for radiation equipment calibration, introduce physical and clinical dosimetry, develop procedures for tumorprocess localisation, as well as to work out the treatment simulator and all other equipment for accurate irradiation: body outline tracing, means for patient's fixation during irradiation, individual field forming accesories and compensators, computerizes treatment planning systems and check and confirmation systems for monitoring of radiation conditions. Only the development of the mentioned methods and equimpment has paved the way for modern radiotherapy. The paper chronologically presents all the listed activities in our country and abroad.
