Abstract		Long term EEG studies are used in the diagnostic workup ofeilepsies because of the episodic nature of epileptic seizures and interictal EEG signs, when short term EEG and clinical observationdo not yield answers ondiagnosis, seizure semiology, frequency of seizures orepileptogenic zone. In this article clinical and research aplications are described,follow by technological demands and solutions.
Summary		Dolgotrajne elektroencefalografske (EEG) preiskave v diagnostiki epilepsij uporabljamo zaradi epizodične narave epileptičnih napadov in interitičnih EEG znakov, kadar kratkotrajni EEG in klinično opazovanje ne odgovorita na vprašanja o diagnozi, vrsti napadov, pogostnosti napadov ali eileptogenem področju. V prispevku so opisane možnosti uporabe metode v klinične in raziskovalne namene ter tehnološke zahteve in rešitve.
