Abstract     Electrophysiological evaluation can provide a great help to the paediatric ophthalmologist and neurologist who may need to asses the quality of vision in infants and young children. In this paper the electroretinograms (ERG) and the visual evoked potential (VEP) recording techniques in children are described. ERG and VEP changes and their diagnostic importance are described in children with nystagmus, optic neuritis, compressive lesions of the visual pathway, hydrocephalus and dyslexia. The importance of simultaneous recording of ERG and VEP in children is stressed.
Opisane so spremembe elektroretinograma in vidnih evociranih potencialov in njihov diagnostični pomen pri otrocih z nistagmusom, optičnim nevritisom, pri tumorjih vidne poti, pri hidrocefalusu in disleksiji. Poudarjene so prednosti sočasnega snemanja elektroretinograma in vidnih evociranih potencialov pri budnih otrocih.
