Abstract     A new surgical technique was introduced to treatment rhegmatogenus retinal detachment. SF6 is the gas most frequently used with pneumatic retinopexy. Good preoperative evaluation is vital to the success of pneumatic retinopexy. Conlusions. Pneumatic retinopexy is an alternative to scleral buckling and Lincoff- Kreissig balloon for the surgical repair of selected retinal detachments. This operation can be used as additional procedure after failure of the primary surgical procedure. A gas bubble is injected into the vitreous cavity, patient is positioned so that the bubble closes the retinal break. The operation is simple and can be done in an outpatient department.
