Abstract     Fracture of the orbit involves its bony and soft parts; its consequwnces can be: aesthetic deformity, visio disturbance, disturbance in motion of the globe and eyelids, change in globe position and drainage of the tears. Basic principles in management are: a) precise evaluation of fractures, deformities and functional disabilities; b) immediate (as soon as possible) repair; c) exposure of all fractured parts; d) precise anatomic reduction; e) rigid fixation; f) bridging of wall defects; g) suspension of soft tissues. Three-dimensional stabile reconstruction of the orbital skeleton with osteosynthesis as soon as possible after the injury is basic condition for successful healing. Our own experiences are presented.
