Abstract		Thirty-seven patients underwent operative repair of parastomal hernias at the Department of Gastroenterologic Surgery in Ljubljana in the period 1987-1996. The method used in the group, the outcome of treatment and the complications encountered during and after the operations are described. Useful experience gained in the management of these patients is presented.
