Abstract     The cochlear implant gives a deaf child potentials to procieve sound stimuli, but it definitely does nc become a hearing person. In prelingually deaf children the rehabilitation of listening follows the basic principles of the verbotonal method in developpment of hearing and speech: from global verbal expression through phonetic and linguistic program, listening and speech are developped by individual anc group procedures of the rehabilitation. Our presentation will be accompanied by video showing rehabil* itation procedures in the girl I.B., nine years old, with the cochlear implant done in l995 in Germany who come to the SUVAG Polyclinic in October 1997 with completely undevelopped speech.
