Abstract		The article is dealing with different concepts of hearing from a historical view. It describes classical and modern psychophysical, the concept of Helmholtz and his fellow Wilhelm Wundt, the basic ideas of Gestalt Theory and Cognition Psychology. The contribution gives a short survey of the different development in psychoacoustics, mainly in some German institutes. Psychoacoustics knowledge is beeing applied currently in many fields. Therefore it seems necessary to preserve research from confusion of concepts.
