Abstract     Cardiogenic pulmonary edema is one of the most frequent and most dramatic conditions that the emergency medical services are involved with. Up to now in the prehospital conditions therapy, patients have been mostly treated with morphine, nitroglycerin sublingually, fursemid and exygen through nasal catheter. In this work we are discussing the prehospital treatment of the cardiogenic pulmonary edema, taking into consideration the most recent attitudes regarding the above mentioned phenomena in literature. The therapy with captopril sublingually will be particularly considered, also the prehospital treatment with dobutamin, and both with intravenous of nitroglycerin as with application of exygen with CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) delivered by face mask.
