| Abstract | QT interval prolongation was observed in 77-year old woman treated with oral amiodarone, digoxin and furosemide for five months because of refractory supraventricular tachycardia and mild heart falure. This caused torsades de pontes with syncope. Hypothyreoidism as amiodarone side effect was confirmed. The present case indicates the possibility of a proarrhythmogenic effect secondary to an interaction between amiodarone and digoxin in hypothyroidism. | |
