Abstract		This contribution is the summary of a study looking at the life quality of older people after they have had a stroke. We questioned 27 people, 19 men and 8 women over 65. They were from Ljubljana and district and were hospitalized at the Slovene Instiute for Rehabilitation between 1992 and 1994. The basic intention of this research was to find out the level and quality of older people's independence if they live at home as well as what affects their independence and what should be done to improve it. The outcome of this study are guidelines and theoretical basis for occupational therapy's home programmes.
