Abstract     The practical application of creative games has proven to be an important gain for group work with elderly people, and for creating home life itself. We can use creative games for individual work and work in pairs. Creative games are also suitable (even particularly so) for people with more or less marked memorial disorders, including dementia. The aim of the article is to present the purpose and usefulness of "games" in geriatrics, and emphasise that residents of old people's homes may play quite simply and spontaneously. The games therefore have an important function for the residents, in the sense of enhancing their quality of life in the space and time in which they live.
