Abstract     Angioplasty and stenting are a reasonable alternatives to surgical revision in patients with failing dialysis access, with a high success and low complication rate. The technique is very similar to that of peripheral artery procedure, however some differences exist. Although the long-term clinical results in these patients appear to be quite good, there is a 20-30% incidence of restenosis. Hopefully, the development of newer technologic approaches (stents, stent grafts) for opening stenotic lesions will lead to improvement in the restenosis rate in patients with dialysis access insufficiency.
Summary     Z angioplastiko ali vstavitvijo žilne opornice lahko nadomestimo kirurško zdravljenje odpovedi dializnega pristopa.
