Abstract		In the neonatal period, hospital infections with enteroviruses may run a course without distinct clinical signst, but at the same time they can cause paralysis, aseptic meningitis, myocarditis, hepatitis. The sequelae of aspetic meningitis can also be late and may appear in the form of disturbed cognitive functions. A prompt diagnosis is important, particularly in cases of neonates.
