Abstract     First descriptions of single signs of the disease, for which we know today that they are a part of Lyme borreliosis, we find in Europe medical literature more than one hundred years ago. In Slovenia we gave greater attention to this disease only after 1981, the cases, which are registrated are from year to year greater, also at the region Dolenjska. Today is Lyme borreliosis in Slovenia the most frequent transmissive infectious disease, transmitted by ticks. Author shows the epidemiological characteristics of Lyme borreliosis at the region Dolenjska in ten years long period - from 1987 until 19%. For the same period are shown the data for all Slovenia. The aim of thesis is to show the year incidence of Lyme borreliosis - erythema migrans at the region Dolenjska as a whole and also on communes of the region separately, the season incidence and morbidity for age groups and both sex. The data for erythema migrans are compared with another parts of Slovenia. In this thesis is shown also the frequency of another manifestations of Lyme borreliosis at Dolenjska and in Slovenia. The data were collected by registry cards about infectious diseases of the regional institute of public health, state institute of public health Ljubljana and from medical documentation of infectional department of the hospital Novo mesto. The results of the analysis showed that this disease appears in all communs of Dolenjska and that the reporting of the disease is greater from year to year. The greatest incidence of erythema migrans was in summer months, especially in July. The greatest morbidity by children was at age 0 - 9 years, then by adults between 20 and 69 years, the lowest morbidity was at age 75 and more and by young people between 10 and 19 years. Early dermatological changes - erythema migrans were at all age groups more frequent by women. (Abstract truncated at 2000 characters)
