Abstract		The knowledge of the mechanisms of drug absorption, distribution and elimination and the knowledge of the kinetics of these processes is needed to tailor drug administration to the individual patient. Although pharmacokinetics of many drugs varies more often and the changes are more expressed in old population than in young, changes of individual pharmacokinetic parameters can often be predicted. Basic pharmacokinetic parameters andthe likely changes with age in the pharmacokinetics of a drug are described.
