Abstract     The so called 'home pharmacy' drugs, formerly limited only to the first aid box with some aspirins, plasters and disinfectants, can nowadays be found anywhere at home. In includes drugs prescribed for actual illness and those for chronic therapy, but contains also drugs left from previous diseases. Over-the-counter drugs and many unapproved, alternative and illegal drugs are included, unfortunately. According to the statements that each individual himself is the most resposnsible for his own health, selfmedication with conventional drugs is increasing rapidly, together with alternative therapy. Unpharmonized convetional and alternative therapy can result in serious adverse (inter)reactions. The content of home pharmacy is increasingly becoming a sourse of accidental and intentional poisoning.
