Abstract		Demographic situation of population in Slovenia is changing. The number of elderly over 70 and 80 years is increding. In Slovenia there are than 5 percent of people over 65 years living in the homes for elderly, but to all other normal condition for independent life at home have to be made possible. The author is presenting profesional background and instructions for physical therapy with elderly with prevention on the first place. The knowledge and information given from the physiotherapist can make quality of life better and prevent unnecessary isolation and hospitalitation.
