Abstract		Sports injuries, caused either by trauma or overuse, are a frequent problem in top athlets. They are especially common in adolescents, whose locomotor system is not yet completely developed. The paper deals with typical injuries to the knee joint seen at the Centre of the Sports Medicine in Ljubljana. Specific conditions associated with different sports, the age distribution of the patients, and the treatment and rehabilitation of individual injuries are discused.
