Abstract     The aim of the study was to give a histologic review of the tumors and tumor-like noninflammatory lesions of duodenum in Slovene population. The review is also of importance for the endoscopist because it shows the nature and the relative incidence of diseases that present as polypoid duodenal lesions. Among consecutive endoscopic and surgical gastrointestinal specimens in the period of three-year we found 112 lesins of duodenum that were endoscopicaly suspecious for neoplastic lesions and that were histologically of noninflammatory nature. Histologically there were 80 cases of tumors and 32 cases of non-neoplastic lesions. Tumors of papilla of Vater were most frequent neoplastic lesions (53% of all neoplasms), while Brunner gland hyperplasia was the most frequent non-neoplastic lesion (68,8% of all non-neopalstic lesions).
