Abstract     The article presents the changes in spinal biomechanics as a consequence of progressive osteoporosis. Sterno-symphysal charging postures, caused by frequent fractures of vertebra and by increasing kyphosis ancle of thorax, are emphasized. The impact of changed body posture on muscles, tendons, tendon sheaths, joint capsules and joint surfaces is explained, which results in pain conditions in the trunk, back, knees, shoulder ring, occiput and head. Frequent pain conditions in patients with osteoporosis are also a challenge to physical therapists whose expertise can contribute to a faster and more effective pain treatment and help patients to feel better.
