Abstract		Owing to the diversity of its clinical picture, it is often difficult to diagnose an acute abdomen (AA). The basic symptoms of this condition such as abdominal pain, rigidity of abdominal muscles, nausea, vomiting and changes in discharge of stool are frequently not typically expressed, and besides, they can also be encountered in several other diseases. Therefore diagnostic procedures are often carried out at other departments instead of surgery, where these patients actually belong.
