Abstract		The authors wish to state the guidelines for pediatric treatment of the child as a cardiac patient prior to a non-cardiac surgical procedure. Due to the effects of anesthesia and surgery on the child's cardiovascular system, the preoperative preparation requires the cooperation of the pediatric cardiologist with the anesthesiologist as well as the surgeon of the corresponding special field.
