Abstract		60-year old female patient with polycystic renal disease had an aortic valve replacement on August 5, 1998, and implantation of pacemaker on August 17, 1998. After the operation a hemoragic pericardial effusion appeared and also a repeated hematothorax. The patient had an infection with meticilin-resistant Staphyloccocus aureus. On October 12, 1998 the patient was addmitted to Center for Intensive Internal Medicine in hemorrhagic shock and metabolic acidosis. Afew minutes after the admission there was a ventricular fibrillation on the monitor. A complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed. A few hours later the patient regained consciousness. In the course of treatment the surgeons repeatedlly performed thoracotomy but the source of the hemorrhage was not found. On November 5, 1998 the patient died.
