Abstract     We will present the results of a research project on studying the effects of magnetotherapy on the amount of lactates in blood. The levels of lactates in the periferal blood were measured in 22 subjects (soccer players). The subjects were asked to exercise for 180 seconds on a stacionary bike to reach the anaerobic phase. They were then given 90 seconds to rest and for the next 30 minutes they were exposed to a low frequency magnetic field. The experiment was repeated after 1 and 2 weeks. All the subjects excercised in the same way. The lactates were measured in their blood after the exertion in three different ways: control group with no magnetotherapy, group with magnetotherapy type I (cylindrical electrode), group with magnetotherapy type II (Helmholtz's electrode). The data analysis showed a statistically significant decrease in the level of lactates during the aplication of magnetotherapy type II. The leves of lactates in the periferal blood did not show a statistically significant decrese as a result of magnetotherapy type I when compared to the control group.
