Abstract		The author in the rewiev article presents the adaption of a family development retarded child. Individual familly members are differntly influenced by such a child. Progressive acceptance of the child is gradual. each member of the family is coping with this problem in his own way and time. The way of the patent's adaption has a long term impact on parents, family and the child. The sources of strenght within the family and environment significantly influence the acceptance of differnt way of life. More qualified knowlwdge concerning these problems will be obtained onluy by a greater co-opetation among scientists, experts, families and authorities, who provide the program for the developing child and family.
Summary		Avtorica v preglednem članku predstavlja prilagajanje družine na otroka z motnjo v duševnem razvoju. Ugotovitve o vplivu otroka z motnjo na posamezne člane družine so različne. Okvir postopnega sprejenamanja otroka je stopenjski. Vsakdo se prilagaja na svoj način in ob svojem času. Način starševske prilagoditve ima dolgotrajne posledice za starše, družino in otroka. Pomembni vplivi na sprejem drugačnega načina življenja so izvori moči v družini in v okolju. Boljše poznavanje problematike bo mogoče le s sodelovanjem med znanstveniki, strokovnjaki, družinami in odločujočimi ljudmi, ki zagotavljajo programe za razvoj otroka in družine.
