| Abstract | The article describes a three-dimensional optical scanner for measuring functional wear of filling materials. A well-defined protocol must be followed in preparing the samples to ensure that comparable measurements are obtained. The use of the scanner is demonstrated on one amalgam and one composite filling. A high resolution and accuracy place this method among the most reliable techniques for the evaluation of functional wear. | |
