Abstract     The objective of this study was to analyse the indications, surgical techniques and complications of laparoscopic myomectomy. Between October 1997 and July 1999,185 women underwent laparoscopic myomectomy at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The procedure was successfully carried out in 162 (87.6%) women, whereas in 23 (12.4%) laparoscopy was converted to laparotomy. Alltogether 242 myomas were removed. The mean size of the dominant myoma was 4.8 +- 2.1 cm (range 3-12 cm), the most frequent location of the dominant myoma was intramural. There were no major complications except for one bowel injury during the introduction of the trocar, a complication not specifically related to myomectomy.
