Abstract     Modern technology is offering faster and better document delivery. In the following months, CMK is planning to install ARIEL software - version 22., which has the capability to deliver documents via the Internet directly to the patron's desktop. Several services are provided by the National Library of Medicine. All PubMed and Internet Grateful Med users (both systems search MEDLINE and many other biomedical databases) can order documents from a list of retrieved citations from their desktop computers. This is done by Loansome Doc, which transfers all the citations to a DOCLINE library where a full-text document is supplied. DOCLINE is the NLM's automated interlibrary loan request and referral system, which I became accustomed with during my training in Washington DC.
