Abstract		In the report overall environmental problems of small settlements around capital city Ljubljana, with special focus on use and protection of water sources and wildlife protection areas was worked out. As an example community of Brezovica and small settlements Preserje - Kamnik - Podpeč were investigated in details. Such or improved model will be applied in 2nd phase of the project. More typical clusters of settlements around Ljubljana city will be chosen as an examples how to manage and how to protect environment.
