Abstract		Harmonic tissue imaging uses the fact that harmonic energy is generated as ultrasound passe, through tissues. The ultrasound machine can selectively display images created by using harmonic energy and suppress many artefacts that decrease the quality of conventional, fundamental images. Harmonic tissue imaging provides better visualisation of the left ventricular endocardial horders and other cardiac structures, especially in patients with a poor acoustic window. This review will outline some of the physical and instrumentation principles and clinical applications of harmonic tissue imaging.
Summary		Tkivno harmonično slikanje je novejša ehokardiografska slikovna tehnika. Uporablja harmonično energijo , ki nastaja pri širjenju ultrazvočnega valovanja skozi tkivo. Zmanjšanje artefaktov in tehnično-fizikalne značilnosti te metode omogočajo boljši slikovni prikaz. Izboljšanje slikovne kakovosti je najizrazitejše pri bolnikih s slabim akustičnim oknom in neustrezno osnovno dvodimenzionalno sliko. Tkivno harmonično slikanje omogoča boljši prikaz endokarda in drugih srčnih struktur. Prispevek obravnava nekatere fizikalno-tehnične osnove ter klinično uporabnost te nove metode.
