Abstract     Cat scratch disease is a common cause of local lymphadenopathy in children. Bartonella henselae is the most likely causative agent. Cats are the reservoir of these bacteria. The natural course of the disease is benign and treatment is not necessary in most cases. There were 20 cases of cat scratch disease diagnosed in the period between 1.1.1997 and 30.6.1999 in the University Medical Centre, Division of Pediatrics in Ljubljana. In all cases spontaneous resolution of the symptoms was observed, except in one case where clinical improvement was observed following antibiotic treatment.

Potek bolezni je običajno benigen in zdravljenje v večini primerov ni potrebno. Na Pediatrični kliniki v Ljubljani so v zadnjih dveh letih in pol diagnosticirali 20 primerov bolezni mačje praske.
