Abstract		The sunlight which reaches the Earth's surface is composed of the ultraviolet, the visible and part of the infra red spectrum of electromagnetic waves. The most important for changes in the skin are ultraviolet rays, and the special branch of medicine dealing with these relationships is called photomedicine. In this article we deal with photodermatoses - diseases, where sunlight is the only or a very important etiopathogenetic factor. They are divided according to the time interval between sun exposure and the onset of a skin disorder in the acute form, the chronic form, or those disorders where changes partly develop soon after the exposure and partly later, over the years. As regards the scope of this meeting, we will speak mostly about acute reactions to sunlight: sunburn, photosensitivity reactions (photoallergic and phototoxic reactions), polymorphic light eruption and hydroa vacciniforme. At the end, the basic diagnostic procedures are mentioned, with warnings about adequate sun protection measures.
Summary		Sončna svetloba, ki doseže zemljino površino, zajema ultravijolični, vidni in del infrardečega spektra elektromagnetnega sevanja. Od teh je za spremembe na koži pomembna predvsem ultravijolična svetloba. Vejo medicine, ki se ukvarja z njenimi vplivi na bolezni, imenujemo fotomedicina. V prispevku obravnavamo predvsem bolezni, kjer je sončna svetloba edini ali pa vzročno pomemben udeleženec nastanka neke bolezni - fotodermatoze. Razdeljene so glede na čas pojavljanja sprememb po izpostavljanju soncu: akutne, kronične in take, kjer se del sprememb pojavi zgodaj po izpostavitvi, del pa šele čez leta. Glede na namen tečaja smo se natančneje posvetili akutnim odzivom na sončno svetlobo: sončni opeklini, preobčutljivostnemu odzivu na ultravijolične žarke (fototoksične in fotoalergične dermatoze), polimorfnemu odzivu na svetlobo ter hydroa vacciniforme. Na koncu so našteti osnovni diagnostični postopki in opozorila glede ustrezne zaščite pred soncem.
