Abstract     In the frame of the working group 3, Genetic and cell programmes, the influence of growth regulators jasmonic acid and gibberellic acid on growth and plant defence responses after mycorrhizal infection of peas Pisum sativum with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus Glomus mosseae BEG 12. Main topics of the work was devoted to growth parameters and SDS-PAGE electrophoresis analysis, as well as activities of chitinases and the changes in the level of phytoalexins. In the frame of the working group 4, Mycorrhizal technology, the estimation of the pollution with heavy metals and the uptake in the plants was made. In addition, the diversity of arbuscullar mycorrhizal fungi at sites in non-polluted area Gabriele-Miren Valley, Brezovica near Ljubljana and polluted area Deskle-Soča Valley, Žerjav Mežica Valley, was studied. The diversity and abundance of arbuscular fungi at the polluted site is critically disturbed. We started the isolation of some of the avtochtone fungal species, which are currenty being determined. We have also started preparing the proper fungal inocula for improvement of plant growth at determined sites.
