Abstract		In children, foreign body aspiration into the respiratory tract presents a serious problem. The significance of history, clinical investigation and radiography in diagnosing foreign body aspiration is demonstrated. The algorithm of management of the child with foreign body aspiration is also given. Prophylaxis, particularly parents education, is extremely important for the prevention of aspiration. It is also important to instruct parents about basic life support measures in case of foreign body aspiration. Ten children with evidence of a foreign body in the respiratory tract who were hospitalized at our Department of pediatrics between 1992 and 1999 are presented.
Summary		Aspiracija tujkov v dihala pri otrocih je resen problem. Predstavljen je pomen anamneze, kliničnega pregleda in rentgenskega slikanja v diagnostiki aspiracije tujka. Podan je algoritem obravnave bolnika z aspiracijo tujka. Preventiva, predvsem ustrezna poučitev staršev, je odločilna za preprečevanje aspiracij, prav tako je treba podučiti starše, kako ukrepati pri aspiraciji tujka. Pirkazanih je deset otrok z dokazanim tujkom v dihalih, hospitalizirani na našem oddelku od leta 1992 do leta 1999.
