Abstract | In Slovenia the new curriculum for vocational training in family medicine was introduced in summer 1997. In the same time the new summative assessment has been prepared. The development of his assessment was based on the following principles: assessment should be congruent as much as possible with everyday work of a family physician; assessment should stimulate a candidate to show what he or she has learned during vocational training and should not only search for things he or she does not know; assessment should assess knowledge, competence, performance and real action. | |
