Abstract		The article presents the basic characteristics of cosmetics in comparison to pharmaceutical products and opens the problems of trends in evolution of modern cosmetics. Integration possibilities of biological concepts and knowledge from different fields of science are shown on some examples of cosmetic active ingredients. The antioxidative action and photoprotective role of vitamin E, vitamin C, ubiquinone and rosmarinic acid that they have in cosmetic preparations are described.
Summary		Prispevek podaja osnovne lastnosti kozmetičnih izdelkov v primerjavi s farmacevtskimi ter odpira vprašanje smeri razvoja sodobnih kozmetičnih izdelkov. Na nekaterih kozmetično učinkovitih antioksidativnih spojinah so prikazane možnosti integracije bioloških konceptov in spoznanj iz različnih znanstvenih področij. Opisano je antioksidativno delovanje vitamina E, vitamina C, ubikinona in rožmarinske kisline ter njihova zaščitna vloga pred fotooksidativnimi poškodbami kože, ki jo imajo te spojine v kozmetičnih izdelkih.
