Abstract | Syncope is defined as an acute, transient loss of consciousness due to reduced cerebral blood flow. The differential diagnosis is broad, ranging from benign to lifethreating conditions. History and physical examination obtained in the prehospital setting are most useful diagnostic tools. Approximately 50-60% cases of syncope have an identifiable cause. Causes of syncope can be divided into two categories: cardiogenic and noncardiogenic. In our contribution we also wish to present distinguishing between sy GMAS and unwitnessed seizure. | |
