Abstract     Left atrial myxoma was discovered accidently in an asymptomatic and well-trained 54-years old person. Heart ultrasound examination was carried out on his initiative to confirm a good and healthy condition. Unfortunately, left atrium myxoma was discovered, while all other morphological and functional parameters were normal. Laboratory studies, ECG, chest x-ray, exercise test were normal. Cardiac catheterization confirmed normotensive pulmonary and systemic circulation as well as normal coronary angiography. Pulmonary angiography in the left phase discovered a round defect that occupied approximately one third of the left atrium. Questions arise: if, why and when the cardiac surgery should be carried out in case of accidentaly discovered small and non-obstructing left atrial myxoma in an asymptomatic person. In our opinion surgery have to be carried out as soon as possible. The main reason for this decision are potential systemic emboli.
