Abstract     This paper describes the importance of pulmonary angiography and the role of magnetic resonance imaging in the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism. The indications and relative contraindications for pulmonary angiography are given, and the test required prior to the procedure, the procedure itself and its possible complications are described. Various magnetic resonance techniques and their current role in diagnosing pulmonary embolisms are introduced. The reliability of individual diagnostic methods (perfusion-ventilation scintigraphy, CT and MR of pulmonary arteries, classic and digital subtraction angiography) is discussed. In the conclusion, an algorithm is proposed for imaging diagnostic methods in case of suspicion of pulmonary embolism.
Summary     V prispevku je opisan pomen pljučne angiografije in vloga magnetne resonance pri pljučni emboliji. Podane so indikcije in relativne kontraindikcije za pljučno angiografijo, preiskave pred posegom in izvedba posega ter možni zapleti. Predstavljene so različne tehnike magnetne resonance pljučnih arterij in sedanja vloga v diagnostiki pljučne embolije. Razpravljamo o zanesljivosti posameznih diagnostičnih metod (perfuzijsko-ventilacijski scintigram, CT pljučnih arterij, klasična in digitalna subtrakcijska pljučna angiografija). V zaključku je podan algoritem slikovnih diagnostičnih preiskav pri sumu na pljučno embolijo.
