Abstract		This paper shows the methods of catheter removal of pulmonary emboli and our modification with the use of ordinary catheters for percutaneous thrombectomy in peripheral arteries and for diagnosis. Two cases are presented of patients with massive pulmonary embolisms who were successfully treated with catheter removal of the emboli. In the first case, thrombolysis was contraindicated, and in the second one it was unsuccessful. In the discussion and conclusion, the authors state that catheter therapy of PE is safe and successful in patients with acute PE and a recent thrombus.
Summary		V preglednem prispevku sva prikazala metode katetrskega odstranjevanja embolusov iz pljuč in lastno modifikacijo z uporabo običajnih katetrov za perkutano trombektomijo v perifernih arterijah in diagnostiki. Predstavljena sta dva bolnika z masivno pljučno embolijo, uspešno zdravljena s katetrsko odstranitvjo embolusov. Pri prvem je bila tromboliza kontraindicirana, pri drugem pa neuspešna. V razpravi in zaključku avtorja ugotavljata, da je katetrsko zdravljenje pljučne embolije varno in uspešno pri bolnikih z akutno pljučno embolijo s svežim strdkom.
