Abstract		Fractures of the medial wall of the acetabulum with central protrusion of the head of the femur can be treated by using the principles of ligamentotaxis. Athors describe the technic using the Hoffmann's external fixator. The method is compared to the non-operative treatment and to the open reduction and rigid internal fixation. The method of Ilizarov offers alternatives to the standard treatment of infected nonunions. The Ilizarov circular frame osteosynthesis allows resection of the infected area and stabilization of the bone to consolidation, while the functional loading of the extremity and the joint function are allowed. Experience in the application of Ilizarov fixator in the treatment of infected nonunios of tibia are described.
