Abstract     The purpose of this study was to establish the acoustic characteristics of esophageal voice. The sample consisted of 33 male laryngectomy patients with a mean age of 57. The quality of their voice was examined using a Kay Glemetrics Corp. device, model 4300B, with a Kay Elemetrics Corporation model 4305 Multidimensional Voice Program. Acoustic analysis of esophageal voice showed that the quality of voice in patients with esophageal voice is worse than that of patients with laryngeal voice. Esophageal voice is lower and weaker, the maximum phonation time is shorter and the jitter and shimmer are greater than those in patients with laryngeal voice.
Summary     V raziskavi smo želeli ugotoviti akustične lastnosti ezofagalnega glasu. Raziskava je zajela 33 moških laringektomiranih oseb, povprečne starosti 57 let. Meritve so bile narejene s pomočjo aparata Kay Elemetrics Corporation model 4300/B in programa Multidimensional Voice Program, model 4305 Kay Elemetrics Corporation.
