Abstract     Head injury is often associated with hearing loss. When a head injury is followed by conductive hearing loss, it is most commonly the result of a hematotympanon or traumatic rupture of the eardrum. If hearing loss remains after the eardrum has been healed, disruption of the ossicular chain must be suspected, most frequently at the incus. The same type of incus damage was seen after otosurgical procedures performed in the times before the introduction of the routine use of surgical microscopes. During the last twenty-five years, 47 cases of traumatic or iatrogenic dislocation or fractured incuses were treated. Various surgical procedures were used and in 62% of all cases hearing improved.
Summary     Pri poškodbah glave pogosto pride tudi do okvare sluha.
