Abstract     Common modalities for guiding surgical or radiotherapeutical interventions as digital radiograph, x-ray fluoroscopy and portal imaging lack spatial information contained in computed tomography or magnetic resonance images. By registration of preoperative 3D magnetic resonance (MR) or computed tomography (CT) images to intraoperative 2D X-ray images, a precise localisation of the patient in the operating room could be achieved. in this article we tried to simulate 2D intraoperative images from digital 3D preoperative model of the patient. By comparing the reconstructed 2D image to the real intraoperative image, precise location of the pacient could be achived. The article is focused on reconstructing 2D x-ray images from 3D CT model.
