Abstract     Dynamic model of muscle twitch was composed to elucidate the involved processes. The corresponding nonevasive measurement technique was developed at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. The model was made for studying and improving the motion of persons with muscle disorders or athletes. The main problem of muscle twitch dynamics modelling poses Calcium (Ca2+) dynamics. Measurements of Ca2+ in the muscle are difficult to perform, therefore, the data available in the literature are rare. However, understanding of Ca2+ dynamics is of key importance for the model. In spite of nonidentifiability of the model, physiologically acceptable model structure and parameters could be obtained. It shows that there is a high correlation between muscle belly displacement and processes involved in muscle contraction. Genetic algorithms represent a powerful tool in the process of model parameters estimation.
