Abstract		Anorectal manometry is a metod to assess objectively the apparatus of defecation provided by anorectum. The standard manometric evaluation enables measurment of resting and squeeze pressure, as well as of lengh of high pressure zone. Adjuvant tehniques using an intrarectal ballon allow assessment of the anorectal inhibitory reflex, rectal sensitivity, capacity and compliance. Anorectel manometry is an important diagnostic metod to evaluate patients with constipation and fecal incontinence.
