Abstract		The main cause of the development of congenital rectourinary fistulas is an iregularity in the development of urorectal septum. The acquired rectourinary fistulas are usualy caused as a consequence of benign diseases as Crohn's disease, injuries, inflammations or they can be caused iatrogenic. Fistulas may occur also as a consequence of malignancy, in some case they may occur after treatment of these disaeses. Treatement of fistulas can be conservative with antibiotics or surgical. During a surgical performance fistulas can be closed. Paliative surgical treatement is performed in cases when we want to improve the quality of life of the patient.
