| Abstract | Background. Rational pharmacotherapy includes a quality drug with high efficiency and safety. The society is using the drug from the most reasonable standpoint. The pharmaceutical industry is the only industry that influences the state of health and the behaviour of people-that is why the state and interstate institutions control it. The cooperation between the pharmaceutical industry and the doctor in the developed world is necessary and useful for both partners, although danger and restriction are not excluded. The doctor encounters pharmaceutical companies during the clinical research of drugs, as an expert while preparing technical material, the usage of the basic characteristics of the drug, instructions for the doctor and the patient, in technical literature and advertisement of drugs. Conclusions. The pharmaceutical industry is and must be interested in a reasonable usage of drugs. It can meet with a conflict of principles in mutual competition of pharmaceutical companies. A conflict of interest in the rational pharmacotherapy usually appears in the doctor when he gives up his professionalism and adjusts his standpoints to the interests of the pharmaceutical industry. The most exacting medical magazines are solving this question by consistent quotes of connections between authors of published works and pharmaceutical companies. | |
| Summary | Izhodišča. Racionalna farmakoterapija vključuje kakovostno zdravilo z veliko učinkovitostjo in varnostjo, ki je uporabljeno najbolj smotrno tudi s stališča družbe. Farmacevtska industrija je edina industrija, ki vpliva na počutje in obnašanje ljudi, zato je upravičeno nadzorovana s strani države in meddržavnih ustanov. Sodelovanje med farmacevtsko industrijo in zdravnikom je v razvitem svetu nujno in koristno za oba partnerja, a ni brez nevarnosti in omejitev. Zdravnik se srečuje s farmacevtskimi družbami pri kliničnih raziskavah zdravil, kot ekspert pri pripravi strokovnih gradiv, uporabi osnovnih značilnosti zdravila, navodila za zdravnika in bolnika, v strokovni literaturi in pri oglašanju zdravil. Zaključki. Farmacevtska industrija je in mora biti zainteresirana za smotrno uporabo zdravil. V nasprotje s temi načeli lahko pride predvsem pri medsebojni konkurenci farmacevtskih družb. Do nasprotja interesov pri racionalni farmakoterapiji pride predvsem pri zdravniku, kadar se odreče profesionalnosti in prilagaja svoja stališča interesom farmacevtske industrije. Najbolj zahtevne medicinske revije rešujejo to vprašanje z doslednim navajanjem povezav med avtorji abjavljenega dela in farmacevtskimi družbami. | |
